The Tarot of San Diego reimagines the 22 traditional Major Arcana through narrative scenes set across iconic California landmarks, from Balboa Park arcades and the Coronado bridge to the Pacific coastline. This 24-card deck includes the full Major Arcana alongside dedicated How to Use and About the Cards informational inserts.
Rendered in a dramatic 1950s romance and adventure comic-book style, the artwork showcases heavy brush contours, noir chiaroscuro, and classic Ben-Day halftone dots. Warm newsprint textures blend with faded scarlet, muted petrol teal, and mustard yellow inks to evoke authentic mid-century print.
Every scene pairs expressive figures and period fashion with hand-drawn Spanish Revival architecture and harbor views that reflect core tarot meanings. Detailed pen cross-hatching and deep shadow shapes emphasize the dramatic tension of each archetype.
Designed for tarot and oracle readers, this unique deck brings focused storytelling, timeless symbolism, and California atmosphere to any intuitive practice.
