The Tarot of Chicago reimagines the classic twenty-two Major Arcana through the iconic spirit, striking architecture, and vibrant atmosphere of the Windy City. This twenty-four card deck includes all twenty-two archetypes alongside two informative cards covering how to use and understand the cards.
Each card showcases a dramatic 1950s vintage comic-book noir illustration style filled with heavy black contours, moody cross-hatching, and authentic Ben-Day halftone dots. River bridges, steel elevated trains, Art Deco towers, and Lake Michigan emerge in flat faded scarlet, mustard yellow, and petrol teal inks.
Expressive adult faces, dramatic gestures, and quiet tension capture powerful traditional themes ranging from The Fool’s beginnings to The World’s wholeness. Readers will find deep, evocative storytelling rooted in timeless archetypes and classic urban chiaroscuro.
Tailored specifically for tarot and oracle readers, this deck brings historic city culture into intuitive personal readings. It offers a distinctive, atmospheric tool for both dedicated collectors and daily divination practitioners.
